Thursday's are a great time of the week for me to sit and think about what I'm thankful for. Friday seems semi-within reach, yet the whole week is still weighing on you. What better time to reflect on what makes you grateful for the life you have

1. Florida State AND The Gamecocks are both playing their bowl games in Orlando on DIFFERENT DAYS! FSU will be facing WNotre Dame (a throwback tot he days of old) on December 29th, and the Gamecocks are challenging the Nebraska Cornhuskers on December 2nd! A win for both would be amazing and a win for the Gamecocks would seal a spot in the top 10 at the end of the season! I am THANKFUL that I will be able to attend both games! Go Cocks! Go Noles!

2. Online shopping. I HATE facing malls at this time of year, and I love the cash back I get for using my credit cards online in certain shops! I also love searching and searching untill I find the perfect gift. But Online shopping keeps me away from the crazy Orlando malls and focused on the best aspects of Christmas...the love and enjoyment of family.

3.Alarm Clocks- I would never wake up, I'd never be on time and I'd sleep away everything in my life if it wasn't for alarm clocks.

4. Surprise mail packages. This week I got my neices birth annoucement AND a suprise t-shirt in the mail from my grandparents. It's so nice to get things in the mail that are not bills, or even things you ordered but are things that you don't expect and are stoked to receive!

5. Winning Coach of the Year for Girls Swimming! Last year it was a given I would win because my girl's team won conference...so I automatically one. This year however, coaches had to vote! Coaches voted and I won! Woot Woot!

6. Hanging out with old friend. Stefanie and I were best friends all through elementary school and barely kept in touch but were still friends throughout middle school and high school. But now we're both back and were able to participate in a pub crawl and sushi dinner on Friday. I am so thankful to have her back in my life. She is such a strong, intelligent, beautiful person and I've missed her!

1. Socks....so I woke up this morning and wham it's winter! It's been getting a bit chillier over the past few days but last night and this morning prooved it, it's Winter Time...so I am so thankful for socks. They are keeping my toes semi-warm in my classroom that is currently 57 degrees!

2. Hungry Girl! HG Pizzafied grilled cheese. 5 WW+ points, delicious and pretty much stisfies my pizza craving WINNING! Cream Cheese ragoons 3 WW+? Mississippi Mug Pie? Smores Ice Cream Sandwiches? Hungry Girl cookbooks (and Lisa) keep me satisified and on track while I work towards my weight loss goals.

3. My pup - he makes me feel sooo loved. Wagging his whole body when I come home, cuddling to make me warm. That pup just knows how to make me feel good.

4. Random text message exchanges. Sometimes people just make you feel good, and sometimes you just have to be thankful and not have to over think them.....so when someone is telling me they are thinking about me I'm just going to go with it (this is not the actual text...that is just for me)...

1. 30Rock- I've been watching it incessantly. I can't stop, lol I watch it on my phone as I grade papers during lunch, as I fall asleep, when I'm cooking, when I'm sitting, when I'm walking. I've been watching it for the past two years, but I finally went and watched the old episodes! I love it! I'm totally Liz Lemon...she even plays Sims like me...I just wish I was half as hott, funny and successful as her..

2.WeightWatchers- I just returned to WeightWatchers and while I don't want this blog to turn into a weightloss blog (it won't...trust me). I want to be able to currently share my successes, recipes, and ideas. I am thankful for the Weight Watcher plan because it allows me to eat the things I love while still losing weight. It's all about portion control!

My list is short and sweet this week as I try to get back into the swing of things! I promise to do better!

Thursday's are a great time of the week for me to sit and think about what I'm thankful for. Friday seems semi-within reach, yet the whole week is still weighing on you. What better time to reflect on what makes you grateful for the life you have?

1. Being an alumn of the College of Charleston. Isn'y my college beautiful? That's our main building, Randolph Macon Hall, that is in the photo above. You may recognize it from movies like Cold Mountain, The Patriot or Dear John to name a few. Anyways, it is beautiful. This trip back to CofC this weekend just prooved to me how lucky I am to have attended The College. I made amazing friends, got to live in an amazing city and don't have any regrets. My trip back this weekend for the College of Charleston Alumni Meet was great. I got to see people I hadn't seen in forever and a few old favorites.

2. My study abroad experince. This past weekend when in Charleston I met up with a friend of mine who attended Southern Mississippi but was on my study abroad trip to London in 2007. I have not seen said friend since 2007,a nd ended up hanging out with him and having brunch with him on Sunday! I'm so greatful for that connection and to still feel like I have a great friend in addition to the amazing experince.

3.I'm still thankful for grits.......like seriously...I think I eat grits 5x a week. Southern Cereal is my new meal replacement. I eat it for dinner...breakfast, lunch....brunch...I think I have a problem.

My actual pair of Tory Burch's!

4.Sunglasses. Apparently Florida has not gotten the message that it is FALL! Seriously. It has been hotter and more humid the past week than it's been in forever. I am ready for the cool temps. Thank goodness while I am out in this ridiculous heat coaching I am able to find some relief in the form of sunglasses. They battle the glare of the pool, keep sweat at bay and make me feel as if I am not completely melting on the spot. I love sunglasses.

Look at the bling on this Vaseline Bottle...I may be a bit jealous.
4. Vaseline- gross right? But guys. Have you ever used it as a chapstick? Seriously. Best thing ever. I have lips that are definietly on the fuller side (lucky me), and vaseline does an amazing job of keeping them smooth, supple, and kissable...oh wait....they're just not chapped. But really, there is no scent or taste to get tired of (you know what I am talking about ladies) its cheap, and it works better than any of the medicated balms that you buy when your lips get nasty in the winter. I'm telling you...Vaseline is the best...if you haven't tried it on your lips...well...you should!

Thing's I am Thankful For Thursday

Thursday's are a great time of the week for me to sit and think about what I'm thankful for. Friday seems semi-within reach, yet the whole week is still weighing on you. What better time to reflect on what makes you grateful for the life you have?

1. My asthma medications. This week bronchitis snuck up on me in full-force (it started Friday) and my asthma has been struggling ever since. I got down to about 40% lung capacity (I operate everyday on about 60...so it's not that bad. But, I'm so thankful for my everyday asthma medications and my occasional one (prednisone) that has made my life bearable this week. I should probably just give a shout out to Tylenol and modern medicine as well!

2. Guest speakers. On Wednesday, I had totally forgotten that a guest speaker from Keiser University was coming to talk to my students about college and scholarships. OMG, he was amazing. He gave me a chance to catch-up on some stuff I needed to get done and he just in general was awesome. He inspired my kids and even got a girl to look at scholarships who otherwise wouldn't. I do what I can, but sometimes you need outside help and he certainly provided it!

3. My students. This week my athletes and co-workers are driving me insane. Skipping practice to build a float? I'm all for the super involved, however, float building time should not be during Varsity Sport practice. Have a meeting need to come late? Go Ahead! Have a community service for special event? Okay! Need to miss or leave for church or for study groups/class? Sure. I'll work with you. But missing practice work on a flat that you started last minute, is not okay! Float's can be built on weekends and after practice. NOT from 4-6pm Monday-Friday when I have a practice to run. This may sound bitchy, but I don't know what else to do. I also can't believe that club sponsors are requesting my Varsity athletes to miss for this! DO you think they'd expect a football player to miss their practice? Hell no, they wouldn't and swim team is no different.  There are plenty of members of the clubs that are not involved in sports that can work on the float during practice hours.

ANYWAYS OMG I regressed. I really appreciate my students this week. They are such a good/easy group that I can't help but enjoy my day with them. They can be a bit chatty but all-in-all I am so lucky. SO lucky to have them.

4. Charleston! I leave for Charleston tonight to go to my alumni swim weekend. We are going to honor the dear late Morgan Hall, and raise money for the scholarship in her name. I'm excited to see my former team and bond with them. I'm also excited to hang out with my best friends, have a road trip with Naomi and to visit my brother!

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am Thankful for...

My brother - he is back home and living on the East Coast again. We are only 18 months a part and quite simply he's my best friend. I am so glad to have him home for two weeks. I've been mega stressed the past few weeks and having him home has really mellowed me, and calmed me down. Not to mention I've been eating great (did I mention he is an AMAZING chef?).

Sweatshirts- Yes, I live in Florida. Yes, it is a millon degrees outside. But, last night I was caught in a torrential downpour while coachign a meet. I literally looked like I had gone swimming and my clothes reflected that. Seriously, I could not have been anymore wet. I had time to run to my classroom change clothes quickly and then change run to host trivia. I WAS FREEZING. The bar/restaurant that I host at wasn't that cold by I was chilled to the bone, and VERY thankful for my sweatshirt.

Post-It-Notes: Because seriously, I have no idea what I would be doing without them. ( I seriously feel like my classroom looks like this.

Paper Clips
Paperclips- Because, without paperclips...I would be buried in paperwork....seriously.

My Dad- He knows I'm struggling with a lot of things (whose the genius who put her brain surgery on a credit card) and has been helping me out...as well as sponsoring my swim team.

My Mom- Because, she's put up with my bitching and moaning for a few weeks now and doesn't seem to mind.

This Blog- it provides an outlet like no other...even if no one read its.

I am thankful for all of these things, and more.
